I was diagnosed with AML (leukemia) at 14. Now, at 27, I am an oncology (cancer) nurse. I found Picoult's book to be a touching story that captured the true struggle that a cancer patient and their family go through (only their struggle was obviously to the extreme). I was disappointed that the movie ending was changed so completely, but that may only be because I felt such a strong connection to Kate. The acting was outstanding. Sofia Vassilieva's performance was award worthy. If you have read the book and are not sure if you want to see the movie, I encourage you to do so. It really is worth it. If you haven't read the book, what are you waiting for? |
