I saw a sneak peek of this Film and was excited to see it based on a the preview. The preview did not encapsulate the true meaning of the Film. The acting is gripping, as is the storyline. Unfamiliarized with the novel, it was jarring plotline. I thought the flashback/flashforward point of view was well done. I find in some films it becomes confusing & annoying -as in the movie, Evening with Claire Daines. The acting by both Uma Therman and Evan Rachel Wood is powerful. The Director chose a more artistic creative way to visual sell the film. I'm disappointed that they changed aspects of the film from the novel, as in the ending in the bathroom, which I think takes away from the book. The ending was a bit ambiguitous, however the title of the movie helped clarify it for me. (I think) This isn't for everyone, but I felt it was well done. |
