I didn't really plan on seeing this movie--although I'm a huge Jack Black fan--but I had family going, so what the heck. I should have known to stay away once I saw Apatow's name attached to it. I am tired of his low-brow peddling that is in every movie; it worked in Anchorman and, even, Knocked Up, but it has gotten to be too tired and too much. Can I get a comedy that he's not involved in nowadays?! I'm sick of it. Surely enough, his potty humor manifests in this movie, and, boy, is it a hinderance. Then again, I don't know where this movie was going; they should have focused on having an actual story, rather than throwing poop joke and genetailia joke after pee joke after boob joke. Very little of it is funny.

It's time for a comedy regime change. Down with Apatow. Adam Sandler even had a nice streak of solid movies going before Apatow stepped in and helped create the crap that was Don't Mess with the Zohan. I'm tired of seeing these second-rate/rarely funny actors that appear in zillions of comedies nowadays. I'm talking about Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Jason Segal, and...yes, you, Michael Cera--whom I can't believe is getting roles in Hollywood still. I wish Sandler, James, Black, Stiller, Ferrell, would stay away from these low-brow slingers.

Unfortunately, Jack Black's schtick is nearing its end, it seems. I wasn't even too impressed with him in Tropic Thunder. He needs to go back to doing a Nacho Libre sequel before wallowing away in another ill-fated franchise again. I know not everybody liked Libre, but Black crafted such a unique character that restricted his Black-isms enough to make him look genius; and, trust me, there is a fan base out there for movies like Nacho Libre, and, at least, that franchise will guarantee that Apatow won't be involved.
