This is one of those movies where you know the entire plot within 5 minutes of the opening credits - and it doesn't matter. You'll like it, the kids will love it, and you'll all have a good time. Then when it comes on cable, the kids will watch it over and over again.
It's pure and simple fun fantasy and does not stand up to analysis, but if you want analysis, see "Doubt" and have a crappy time instead.
Sandler is as fun as usual, and none of the other roles demands much acting ability.
It's worth the money if you just expect 90 minutes of smiles and a few laughs. |
