movie studios are quite good at the art of manipulation when it comes to selling their product and no other film in recent history brings home that fact than Paranormal Activity. This dreadful, boring, pointless and utterly unimaginative "movie" was as enjoyable to watch as bicycle accident. And If you think it really costs $15,000 to produce it, well then the spin doctors have earned their pay with you.I believe it was a tactic to add to the talk about the film "Wow, they made it for less than a Toyota Tercel!!". You cant hire catering for a movie set for that much. Editing costs more than a Goldman Sachs executive bonus, and it's just a lie that you can get a film in theaters for under a million dollars.
As far as the internet buzz hyping this film, maybe people should re-examine their trust for Twitter, Facebook and whatever other networks were manipulated to fool people into thinking there was a legitimate, organic and spontaneous reaction to this film. I've seen my cat do scarier things than anything i saw while viewing this rippoff of a film. I sat there, enjoying the nervous giggles and sometimes humorous remarks by the audience (who were the only enjoyment i had in the theater), after all, we were gonna sit thought the " scariest movie of all time", and see an ending that would " guarantee nightmares". What i saw instead, was a film that was not only a waste of time and money, but a grim reminder that if you hear about something that sounds too good to be true...it's probably made in Hollywood |
