I Want To Play A Game - Again And Again And Again

Well, I will start out by saying that I love the previous SAW movies. I have to admit, once I saw the preview of SAW V, I laughed. Why? Because I knew that it would be similar to the previous ones =

1. Someone waking up dumbfounded and hearing a story about how they have to prove their worth to survive.

2. Crazy machines that they are attached to or that they have to solve.

3. Throw in a sick twist @ the end to make everyone who is watching the movie leave thinking that it was the best movie ever.

- I mean, c'mon, how many times can you come up with a movie with the same situations and expect it to be decent. They are definitely overdoing it with 5 movies. They can't learn when to stop.

STORY:

- It supposedly clears up a lot of unanswered questions. It goes back & forth to previous movies and was supposed to clear things up but if you're wanting a crazy twist of how things happened then you won't be blown out of your seat. He gets help. Big whoop, not much of a twist there, we already know that he got help from Amanda so what's the big deal of someone else helping? The majority of this movie is spent in the last 4 movies.

ACTING

- The actors in this movie were absolutely horrible. The detective trying to solve the whole Jigsaw Story was one of the worst. He kept talking to himself the whole movie. The people who were caught up in Jigsaw's Puzzle game trying to "prove their worth" were pretty bad too. There's a whiny guy who almost ruined it for me and a know-it-all girl who almost did the same. I found myself laughing in this movie, not a good sign.

DIRECTION:

- The SAW series definitely forgot their TomTom on this one. This movie has a new director so I knew that it wouldn't be the same as the previous ones. He didn't do much directing in my opinion b/c, as I stated earlier, most of this movie is watching footage of previous movies, so he didn't add much. I seriously hope that there isn't a 6th one. They should've ended it with either the 2nd or 3rd but they got greedy and tried to string it out b/c they knew that people would watch the movie out of pure curiosity.

VISUALS:

- Not much to say here except that the movie has a glossy look to it. It wasn't very clear @ some points of the movie. Maybe it was just the theater or something, i dunno.

OVERALL:

- If you want the same things as stated @ the beginning of this review, by all means, watch it. This movie isn't original, it's the exact same thing as the first 4 but with "answers". I remember leaving the movie telling my girlfriend that she better not bring me to see SAW 16 in the future.

YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW IT ENDS?

- Hmmm, you're right. I couldn't believe how you made 5 movies that are unbelievably similar but with different people. People will always watch it though b/c they want to see blood, they want to see gore, they want to see things that are sick, they want to see things that will make them look away, they want to be grossed out by sick ideas. I just can't believe that people are saying that this was the best one ever and it answered so many questions? The answer as stated above - he got help from someone and it doesn't close the movie out. There ya go. Money and an hour and a half saved. Don't watch it.
