Finally, the script and the direction live up to the cast. Meryl Streep, is this the same women who just made "Mama Mia"? She is a chameleon, playing a dried up, mean spirited nun, so believably, you pull your hand back when she comes on the screen. Amy Adams is wonderful and helps make the story more human. Philip Seymour Hoffmann, he just keeps getting better, and this is a role that shows his range. Viola Davis has five of the most powerful minutes you might ever see in a movie. You are afraid to breathe, it might break the moment. The children are dead on perfect. This movie will be on your mind for a long time. Your friends will be discussing it for the next few weeks.
