The original had such a large impact on people. My dad said he saw it when he was a kid and it changed the way he thought about the universe. This re-make however, fell short. We as moviegoers have seen it all. Doesn't hollywood know that? The Matrix was my "The Day the Earth Stood Still", I saw it as an early teen and it changed the way I thought about our world. This movie had moments, but then seemed to speed up to keep a decent running time. Editing kills movies, but I think we all know that by now. I left the theatre with almost no emotion what so ever. At $10.25 a ticket in this economy, you can see why people may be a little upset. |
