If you just want an action movie, then this will please you with some intense fighting scenes and explosions. However if you are a fan of the older James Bond movies, then this will disappoint.
James Bond normally wins the day through charm, wit, cool gadgets, and the occasion fist fight. In this movie "James Bond" wins mainly through straight violence. This James Bond is more like any old action hero, then the smooth and cool spy we used to know and love.
The main story point from James Bond's perspective is simply revenge for Vespa which works. However the plot of the villains in this movie is unbelievable bad. What happened to destorying or conquering the world, or executing some insane over the top evil genious plot. The evil plot in this movie is neither grand nor impressive, it's just plain sad.
****Spoiler Warning****
This villian in this movie wants to control all the water in Boliva and then charge people twice the amount they normally pay for it. I mean come on, this is some kind of sad joke. How much money can you earn from the poor people of Boliva, how are a bunch of dead people going to help make you richer. They are only going to be able to pay at most whatever they have, which isn't much. I mean come on the US probably spends more on Oil then the entire GDP of Bolivia. If they have all those resources to build those dams, pipepline, and pay off everyone then they should use it for something grander. And even if the villians do succeed then so what, there is nothing world changing about charging the Bolivan people twice what they pay for water. |
