I've been following this movie review for the last 3 weeks before seeing it and I couldn't wait for my free screening. Since this movie doesn't get a lot of press yet and only I know about it in my circle, I managed to drag out 13 other people with me to watch the free screening this week. Wow, it was an outstanding movie and worth the one hour wait. Everyone of us (all 14 girls and guys of varied ages, from 14-45) LOVED IT!

The storyline is a great diversion from the repetitive Hollywood theme, with an "innocent" air around a rough and tough world, you'll be introduced to real poverty, so be prepared...

The scenery is healthy for our humility...

The cinematography was above average...

The soundtrack SOOO much fun!...

The acting (mostly unknown actors) were almost phenomenal (missing a few tears in certain scenes)...

The directing is not all that hard to follow, though some might not like the flash back and forth, I thought it worked great with the way the story is set up...

The subtitle was only about 1/3 of the film and fairly interesting to follow (the accent is sometimes a little hard to hear, I almost prefer the whole movie with subtitle, if only so I could catch everything said...gee, I might have to watch it again! ;D hehe...)

For those who think it is hard to watch because of some "torture" scenes, etc. pleaseee...it is NOTHING compare to your typical violent American movies (Hostel, Chainsaw Massacre, Monster, Seven, etc. etc. etc.). Anyone with normal tolerance could see it, even mature kids (god knows they need some reality check)...and it is, an ultimately romantic movie with an uplifting underlining plot for the underdog...now, is that so bad?!?! So people, DON'T be lame and give this movie a bad review just because you have a less-than-normal-tolerance for a little bit of reality suffering...perhaps if you get out of your rose-colored castle once in a while you can learn to ACTUALLY appreciate what you have instead of complaining about this and that all the time.

I will watch the Oscar this year in many hopes that this movie could win BEST PICTURE (or at least be nominated)!

All the best for Slumdog Millionaire...ps: if Fox Searchlight is reading, PLEASEEEE we need more theaters showing it!!!! Thanks :)
