What it comes down to...

Okay, so many people think the movie sucks because "it's dark, camera shakes too much, outcome is predictable and characters are oblivious" etc. What these people lack is appreciation of film...honestly...what more is there to expect from any horror movie, really? PLUS, this isn't even labeled as "horror", it is a thriller and completes its goal completely.

Darkened sets and scenes that are hard to see may annoy some people, but if anyone has looked up anything about films (such as noir for example) that is what it is SUPPOSED to be like. What, do you expect everything to be all lit and easy to see? That's not very thrilling. Scenes like that create suspense which is what the audience came for. The whole shaking camera, well HELLO, it's a cameraman w/out a tripod, do you expect him to really hold a camera still every single frame of the movie? If that were any of us, i bet we'd be all over the place too, especially in that situation. It gives a first person's perspective as well (sure we don't see all shaky like that) but it put's the viewer in the movie and in the situations and drama vs. being able to see everything going on via 3rd person... It wasn't even that bad, so people need to stop complaining. I do agree though that the characters were pretty idiotic in their decisions and the director could have possibly made a better way to kill them off, but I'm sure there was a reason for this, no need to jump to conclusions - unless you yourself are a director or film producer and know any type of answer to why characters in a film would lack some common sense.

It was not a terrible film, I was actually quite satisfied and I am hard to please when it comes to horror movies...I also just recently began a film history and appreciation class, which obviously many of you need to do...so before you take everyone's advice and believe that the movie was *****, give it a chance and if anything, FINE wait till it comes out on HBO or On Demand or w/e, no biggie. Just try not to judge movies based on other people's opinions, everyone is different and everyone has their own different taste and reaction to any given movie.

So if you want to see the movie, *****, grab a few friends and spend $10 bucks, why not? Better than whatever unhealthy fast food ur gonna spend it on and at least you'll have something to talk (and/or complain - for some of you pessimistics out there) about.
