I am disgusted...

This movie completely disgusted me with its opinion on today's standards regarding relationships. None of the characters appealed to me; Nick was supposed to be a gentleman who cared for the Norah, but that was not the case. He was willing to take the backseat in the relationship, letting Norah direct while he simply followed her every whim. Norah was supposed to be a girl you would want to be friends with, a strong, caring, loving friend. But she could never make up her mind. Even after she was supposed to have realized how amazing Nick was, she hesitated and wouldn't leave her horrible low-life "friend with benefits." I'm not even going to go into detail about the drunk friend, or Nick's gay bandmates, but collectively they added no humor to the film, and increased my negative opinion of the film. I almost walked out on this movie, but I stayed around to see what would happen, hoping for a happy ending. I was shocked, surprised, and most of all deeply disappointed. After knowing Nick for all of maybe 6 hours, she decides he is her soul mate and has sex with him!?! That scene supported my belief that the morals of American teenagers are virtually nonexistent. That realization devastated me the most. This movie's content should have given it an R rating, and I hope that others will be warned before they subject themselves to something they do not want to see. I would never see this movie on a date, because I would have found it to be one of the most inappropriate, awkward experiences of my life. The story was not romantic, the characters were not endearing, and the overall film was most disappointing. Please do not waste your money. As an American teenager myself, I hope that other people my age share in my disgust with this movie and stand up for their morals, if they even have any left. |
