Ill start out by saying i was a huge fan of the book. I was truely excited for the movie to come out, i thought ron howard and tom hanks ruined the da vinci code, but i thought heck, ill give this movie a shot, i thought that maybe angels and demons was a better story, easily adaptable to screen with all the computer graphics and technology of today. the first five minutes of the movie, i thought, oh here we go, theyve already changed very crucial and important parts of the story, but i kept hope. there were times i truely wanted to walk out, and i bet that many people who read the book wanted to do the same. i understand that sometimes, novels need to be shortened to stay in a reasonable time, and there are things that are not possible to create from ones imagination, but they totally changed it. i told a buddy of mine that they really only kept about 25% of the storyline accurate. my question is, why cant screenwriters follow the story line? why cant they live well enough alone? people who read the book just wanted to see the story come to life, was that too much to ask? ill give the visual effects an A. i thought that kept the movie alive. i did not ask for a ron howard travesty again. im not one to write spoilers in a review, so im not going to start now. there were so many crucial parts and CHARACTERS of the movie just written out! how do you sleep at night, knowing that you ruined a fantastic book such as this. 2 thumbs way down!!!! |
