**spoiler alert**
I am a huge fan of the book, it happens to be my favorite of all time. However, so many important things were left out of the movie, such as why the camerllengo did what he did. It alludes to the book when the camerllengo says the pope was his father, in the movie he ment spiritualy, in the book, its litteral, the pope had a child with a nun through artificial insemination so she could experience everything life had to offer, when she died in the bombing the bishop adopted him and later became pope (unbenoingst to the camerllengo, he is his father) langdon didnt get the manuscript, he got the illuminati ambiagrams, the character of maxamillion kholer does not exist in the movie, nor does the conection of vitorria vetra to the scientist who helped her create the antimater who is her father... none of the four prefferiti survive the killings... and there are fight scenes that were cut. in addition to that, the love intrest/connection between robert and vitorria was cut. as were the bbc reporters, and the camerllengo becoming the pope, as was robert being in the hellicopter when it exploded...there were morals to the story in the book, but non in the movie, and it just grinds my gears in the words of peter grifin. to the normal movie goer this movie may have rocked your socks, but as for me and knowing the book as well as i do, it was an utter dissapointment, and seemed like dan brown was trying to make a quick buck by selling the rights... |
