Tall order considering Rocky has been going for about 30 years, but sometimes lightning strikes and strikes hard. REPO!, I believe, is poised to become the musical event of this generation. From the catchy 'Zydrate Anatomy' to an incredible musical performance from Alexa Vega, and even an amazing turn from Paris Hilton, this movie takes the musical to a new level.
People say it's like Rocky Horror meets Blade Runner. I'd have to say throw in Sweeny Todd there as well and THEN you have a great idea of what to expect.
The musical numbers are all well done and many I found myself singing long after I left the theater. Shame that it won't enjoy a bigger first run, but at least getting to see it on the big screen right now is worth the effort. |
