First of all, I'd like to say that I usually read reviews before I see movies and most often trust the critics.. but these guys just don't get it. I think it takes a certain kind of open-minded individual to enjoy a masterpiece like Repo! The Genetic Opera.
Secondly, I will also admit that when I saw that Paris Hilton was in this movie I was a little worried. She really proves everyone wrong in this movie. She's incredible and her interview at the Comic-Con shows that she can be real. Her ditzy blonde routine is just that.. an act. She took the time to make this movie and it wasn't for the money it was because she believed in it.. as did everyone else involved.
I saw this movie last night and I've been anxiously awaiting it for months. It did not disappoint. It was one of the most fun and exciting theatre experiences I've ever had. Everyone did an amazing job, but my favorite performances were by Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Brightman, and Terrance Zdunich.
Most of the movie is told by song or comic-style depictions. The visuals are breathtaking.
If you were at all interested by the trailer, you will most likely adore this movie. Be sure to share it with your friends! |
