I saw Repo! on opening night. I had high hopes for it. I can't say that I was let down by the film, nor can I say that I was leaving the theater raving about it. It was a lot to take in at first and I was trying too hard to make sense of the whole thing. However, after listening to the soundtrack several times then going to see the film again? I had a LOT more fun watching it. There are indeed plot holes and blaring mistakes in editing. Saying that though, I have to say the film was beautifully done with the off color subject of repossessing organs. Anthony was simply amazing with his duel personality role as Nathan Wallace/Repo Man. Paris Hilton wasn't much different than her normal self, just in more make up and costumes. Thankfully she only has a few scenes. Overall? I am going to own it as soon as it comes out onto DVD. I already know nearly all the songs on the soundtrack!
So. To the point. Do you go see it or not? If you take yourself too seriously, then don't. If you don't take yourself too seriously but are still unsure? Wait for it to come out on DVD to rent it. Everyone else? A must see. |
