Ok, I have been a die hard fan of the show since the beginning. I own all the DVDs and refuse to watch the show when it airs on TBS because it is edited and lacks the grittiness it had on HBO. I also did not want to overhype it and refused to read the spoilers.
That being said, I enjoyed the film. I did not see any of the microphones in view that people are talking about-maybe I was too engrossed in the plotline or maybe they had a bad copy of the movie, I don't know.
These characters ARE NOT the same characters they were four years ago. Are you the exact same person you were four years ago? I know I'm not, so why would you expect for everything to be exactly the same.
The basics are there-Carrie is still Carrie, Samantha is oversexed, Miranda is self absorbed and Charlotte ever hopeful and optimistic, but each woman has different trials and tribulations they must deal with. I agree and believe that the men were underused, especially Harry, Anthony, and Stanford.
Some of the costumes are over the top and you sit there like wtf are they wearing, but that's SATC for you and always has been.
I went with 7 other women, some who were series long fans and others who were not, and all enjoyed it. I laughed, I cried, and I'd pay $9.50 to see it again and will definitely purchase the DVD when it is released. |
