What a fantastic film this turned out to be. the first 10 minutes or so did not seem to bode well for the rest of the film, as the acting began very poorly, (excepting David Lee Smith who remained superbly in-character throughout) however from the end of the first third to the end the acting was incredibly intense and realistic.
the story is perhaps what makes this film. Challenging your mind as you watch, the fact that it is all set in one room becomes completely irrelevant, as John's explanations of his life are riveting, as are the protagonists emotional responses to what is being said.
While David Lee Smith delivers by far the best performance, the other characters efforts are very good. Perhaps the very believable reactions are what make this film so compelling, as well as the complete lack of sensationalism, in as much as while what is said is incredible, the deliver of these things are as i would imagine.
