There are some pretty compulsive reasons for seeing 'Frost/Nixon' including extraordinary performances by the lead actors. What was satisfying to me was to finally watch a movie where no scene is wasted, nothing is trivial, every spoken word leads to something else and as an observer, you feel the tension as the Interview nears. There are a few clever scenes about shoes.
Michael Sheen who is probably best remembered for his role as Tony Blair in the 'Queen' does an outstanding job as Frost but make no mistake about it, this was Frank Langella's movie and he hit a home run with his performance of Nixon. An Oscar worthy performance, most definitely. |
