A riveting, remarkably tense and well-paced recount of the famous David Frost interviews of Nixon in 1977. I can't say enough about Frank Langella's performance, it truly was jaw-dropping at times. He didnt just caracture Nixon and his voice or look, he became him, he evoked his darkness and complexity, and even managed to humanize him without speaking at all. Very measured, steady performance that could have become parody, but great acting and fantastic directing kept the proceeds in the right tone. The best film I've seen this year. |
