Big Score!

As a longtime "Futurama" fan, I felt I had to write something about the first (out of 4) Futurama movie. And I have to say, I am not disappointed. It lived up to everything it should have been, and then some.
However, similar to movies like "Spider-Man 3," this movie does get conveluted with a countless number of subplots, supporting characters, and a time travel plot that is almost impossible to make any sense out of. But it still has everything you can possibly ask for to please the hardcore fans, including myself. Plus, the plot, while unneccessarily complicated is actually quite clever, especially the ending which I won't give away here. But I will say, it's an ending that can rival "The Sixth Sense."
"Bender's Big Score" mixes so many great elements from other sci-fi movies like "Terminator" and "Star Wars," but it also works on it's own as a fun story. And even though there are many subplots going on at once, it's not too hard to keep it all together. I wouldn't say this is as funny as "The Simpsons Movie," but "Bender's Big Score" is a smart, clever, funny, and entertaining return for the under-rated series. |
