Films about the concentrations camps in WW2 are by their nature, dark and dreary, and this one clearly falls in that category. It tells a true story about the use of Jewish inmates to counterfeit British and US currency in a last effort by the 3rd Reich to survive by crashing the economies of the allies. But beyond the obvious plot points, the film tells the tale of survival and asks the question - at what cost? There are several characters, each of whom deals with the issue in very different ways. In films such as this, it's interesting to watch and see if you can find yourself in the crowd. Try it. |
