I was so looking forward to seeing this movie! But I was disappointed. It was wonderful to see that they kept the same concept of an all woman cast. Believe me, I searched for a man in the background and was happy not to see one. But, the flow of the movie, missing memorable quotes from the original, career driven women - it all missed the mark of the original. The 1939 production was way before it's time; the 2008 version was just a watered down attempt. I wouldn't want to own this movie nor really care to see it again. If you want to see the 1939 version (available in it's entirety on ****.com from shaina0980 - The Women part one through twm)you will see this 2008 version is a piece of fluff without the UMPH! |
