Eric Wilson was 13 when he and a friend Philip Craig killed a 10 year old girl. When he's 24 11 years later, he's quietly released back into society with the help of a counselor Ted (Peter Mullen). He gets a delivery job and falls for his femme boss and even saves the life of a young girl in an auto wreck. Ted's also having problems with his son, who feels his divorced dad pays more attention to Eric now Jack than him. So, word gets leaked out about who Jack really is. This film could've benefitted better if the first half of the story focused on flashbacks of Eric's childhood more and the events leading up to the killing, followed by his rehabiliation and finding out. All the actors are in top form over this slightly muddy script, hopefully the book, which I now have to read will delve more into the events leading up to the girl's demise. |
