As parents to 3 adorable chihuahuas, hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Typical Disney fare with much laughter and some tears, hokey in some places but overall a very cute movie. The writers of this story had a handle on the chihuahua. The chi attitude was captured for real! They are very intelligent, independent and sensitive dogs who think they can tackle any challenge. We especially got a kick out of the big dust cloud showing up in the movie and the idea of a chi "finding his bark"...our middle one has definitely found his! Take the kids to this movie..we got several chuckles not from the movie, but from one child's reactions during the suspenseful scenes. I applaud Disney for promoting the idea of pet rescue in the movie. As a true dog lover, I realize the importance of responsible people taking in a dog to raise and love. It is not a decision to take lightly because dogs demand a lot of your time. But the rewards of the unconditional love and the smile (yes, our middle one actually grins at us) when you come home are worth any inconvenience. Thanks to Disney for making a movie that a family can go to see together and come out feeling great! I hope there is a sequel. |
