Like Twilight Zone...without the suspense or twist

I was expecting more from Shyamalan. "The Happening" was greatly lacking in the suspense which is typically found in his films. The death scenes were OK at best (all the best ones are seen in the trailer). The storyline was "Razzy" worthy which seemed more like a mockery of a Stephen King movie rather than an original idea.
The actors were decent and the visuals were alright. Mark Walberg's character was a little too wussy for a protagonist.
One of main topics of the movie is that "there are some things in nature that we will never understand/comprehend." The film had no real answers, no real twists and was overall unbelievable which is not much fun.
In general, it appears that M. Night Shyamalan is making movies a little worse each time which is a shame. |
