When I saw that these two were doing another movie together, I was excited. I mean whats better than Pacino and Deniro?
So last night I sat down with a few of my favorite movie theater employees and watched Righteous Kill.
While it is true that this film shouldn't win any Oscars it is a pretty decent flick.
In my opinion there are 3 types of movie fan.
The entertained. The lowest class. They come to the movies to see explosions and funny one liners. They tend to over look things like plot and acting and remember movies based on how much they laughed, and how many CGI explosions they saw. To them this movie was without a doubt an A+ because the story was simplistic enough to keep them in it until the surprise at the end.
Next The Semi Buff. I consider myself in this class. We're right in the middle. We can appreciate good film when we see it, but we can sit through house bunny. We enjoy all kind of movies and we can tell the difference between a horrible movie and a great one. A characteristic that the lowest class fails to grasp. We like to be entertained but our humor slightly more refined and our eye for acting seems much better than that of the class below us. I feel that most movie fans fall into this class, and would rate it similarly. Maybe going down a little. I do enjoy these two actors, alot.
Next the Snob. If its not independent or foreign they want to part of it. for them this is F's all the way. It has almost nothing good independent flicks have.
So this is a good movie, its by no means a great movie and if I would have to pay for it, I might, but with that being said I doubt I'll watch it again. |
