I saw this movie at The Picture House in Pelham, New York, the night before it opened. I thought it was a great story, light-hearted and fun. The only issue I had was with the romance between Sam and Gustavo and then Sam and Bo. It seemed underdeveloped and tacked on: She's with Gustavo because he makes amazing red wine? So is that just a good lay or what? Because then as soon as Bo gets his act together and goes to France, she hooks up with him. It's as if the writers were saying, "Well, there was no way she'd end up with Gustavo, she's blond and she's got to end up with the white guy, but we wanted to at least give Gustavo a TASTE."
Aside from that, tho, it was a fun movie, and worth every penny to see Alan Rickman attempt to sort out a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. |
