Sukiyaki Western Django (2008)
by Michael Tsen (movies profile)
Nov 12, 2008
A very interesting film yet leaves many questions unanswered. For example, what is really the cowboy's motivation? Why was he there? Where was he from? Why sabotage the Whites when he joined them? Why help the kid now? Many questions really derived from the cowboy. As the story progresses, this film reminds me of Kurosawa's style of filming. Besides the story gives me a headache, the actors and the actress' English was hard to understand sometimes without the subtitle. However, the hilarious sheriff and many unexpected people's actions and events boost some interest back into the movie. Overall, if you enjoy watching Kurosawa's films, then you would enjoy this one. |
