I went into this movie without much expectation except getting out of the heat. I came out with the feeling that the film had captured the essence of the good and bad of our political system but allowed the viewer to enjoy the humor in each situation. Bud as the irresponsible dad was played to perfection. The daughter, Molly who had to be the parent was inspiring, refreshing and reminded me of the feelings that most of us have before we become disillusioned by real life politics. This child could see the motives of the adults which were lost on her father. This film touched on the theme that we get the government we deserve but did so in a way that we could still enjoy the humor and irony of it all. Perhaps if even Bud could see the need to be informed there is hope for the rest of us. |
