Not the greatest movie this season, but it is definitely worth seeing. The basic storyline, the acting, the music, and all the rest are quite well done. It looks like a low-budget, "B" grade setup, but it works well in spite of the somewhat amateurish feel.
It was nice to see something other than super slick Huge budget Hollywood.
I think it worked well.
I'd compare it to "Maria Full Of Grace." The movie that was nominated for an actress Oscar a couple years ago.
Some of "Self-Medicated" was a bit overdone, and had a bit much on the ego inflation, but overall, I'd say YES. Go see it. |
