Slow and Slightly depressing

Not sure what these people are cheering about, I read the reviews and thought I'd be watching a movie that you would tell all your friends about. It's slightly depressing, the whole story is just odd, The acting was decent from fanning, not sure if shes as good as the older fanning though :(
