Now this is a film that I could actually pay to see again. I was engaged from the moment it started and truly enjoyed the ride. HUGE kudos to Javier Bardem. After seeing him as the sinister Anton Chigurh(sp) in No Country For Old Men, he filled up the screen as lothario, Juan Antonio. He just screamed SEXY up, down, and all over as he seduced and romanced his way through the streets of Oviedo with Scarlett Johansson (Cristina) and Rebecca Hall (Vicky), two Americans who decide to visit Barcelona for the summer, but end up falling for the charming, handsome, and spontaneous Spaniard. Penelope Cruz is credible as the mentally unstable, Maria Elena, Juan Antonio's ex-wife. While you're watching, you know where the film is going, but you want to see how the actors are going to take you there. Just a smart, mature, and well-done film. Easily in my top 10 of 2008.
