I live in Amherst, Ma and have seen the Young at Heart Chorus but never realized what they went through to put on a concert. The filming is a bit rough and too much time spent with close-ups of the director and not enough time with the singers but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The scene at the Hampshire County Jail where the chorus has to sing after learning about the death of one of their members is probably the most poignant bit of cinematography that I have ever seen. Cried my eyes out! Don't miss this movie but be sure to bring along some tissues! |
