I've never had a better time with a doc than this. Film subjects are usually what interest me but when I saw the trailer for this, I had to go. Film beings with a closeup of a fem senior mouth open in a scream. "Dahling I must know, should I stay or should I go?" This comes from English woman Eileen at 92. Unfortunately, she passed away since at 93 in 07. The group sings songs from Coldplay, The Ramons, James Brown and even the Boss. To hear an octagenarian singing 'Schizophrenia', "My friends thought my woman was a bitch!" I was rolling on the floor with laughter. Seniors who usually enjoy classical, sing rock with gusto and perform all over the world and even at a prison. Don't shy away from this Oscar worthy doc, this will be YOU someday. All I can say to the brave seniors in the Young @ Heart chorus, Rock On Baby! |
