This is an outstanding epic in which we realize the inter-connectedness of all our choices. Choices based on personal goals - both spiritual and materialistic - can effect the many "actors" in our own personal lives! And to be able to look back at the end of life, and realize how our choices created pain and pleasure, victories and defeats for these various people.
Organized religion plays a rather powerful part in this story about guilt. Guilt brought on by forced religious dogma, as well as familial relationships. The outcome would have been much differnet in the characters' lives if there had been true freedom of choice - freedom of constraints put on through family and religion. |
