I saw a trailer for this movie and was like "Well that looks interesting." So I decided to pick up the book and read it first. I normally don't do that but oh well. So it turns out it was the quickest Ive ever read a book. It was extremely suspenseful and well written and creepy. I did however have questions about why they chose to make it into a movie. Six tourists get trapped on an ancient Mayan ruin with flesh eatng plants? I got free tickets to see it the night before it came out and I would have gladly paid $10 for it. It was just as creepy as the book and extremely well acted by the small time actors. Amongst the creepiness and suspense they threw in some gore but not too much and just enough to truly disturb you. For those who have read the book its pretty close to the book. The main difference is that certain events in the book happen to different people, but they're still there. If you're a fan of survival and or horror movies I highly reccomend this bad boy. |
