Very effective, too disturbing?

Possibly the strongest horror movie of the 2007, in fact I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not a big horror fan. It’s almost too disturbing to watch, like other great horror movies, what you don't see can often be much worse than what you do see.
The aunt Ruth character is so extremely evil, it is truly a stand out performance by blanche baker, and her kids progressively feed off of her insanity. To think that she was raising and influencing all these children to be future criminals is beyond sick. Once you see this film, she'll be very hard to forget.
This film forces some strong reactions on its viewer, a feeling helplessness at the plight of the victims, a feeling of anger at the mother and kids, and most of all a feeling a disgust at the thought of these horrific acts. |
