An action movie is an Action Movie. You can give it a great story, get great actors but we all want to see things blow up. This is the foundation to all action movies. Everthing else is icing. So far in my lifetime, only the matrix (original) was great in all these departments.
That said, this movie is not the Matrix. But for what it's worth, it's pretty good.
The story is familiar but is done right. For that itt receives a b-.
The actors bought something to the table that others could not. They were perfectly casted. I just wished they were developed more. B
The direction was almost flawless except for some all too familar progression schemes.b+
The visuals were great. The special effects were great. It's just that alot of the action sequences were to all over the place with the camera. Too many times, you were left to focus yourself. A-
The movie gave everthing it advertised. There was nothing groundbreaking. But the action was entertaining. |
