I'm a 30-year old who grew up on Hollywood Epics like "Gone With The Wind" that didn't have just "one plot". I've heard several people complain that the movie couldn't pick one plot to focus on. Why did it need to? Many of the old epics encompassed a life-long struggle of its characters and not just one epic event in their lives. I for one enjoyed the journey that these characters made in this movie. The cinematography was visually stunning and the acting delightful and believable. A couple of places I briefly (very briefly) consciously acknowledged that the movie was long and or was moving a little slowly... but then the beautiful scenery sucked me back in and by the end of the movie, I was left wanting more and a little sad it was over.

So in conclusion - if you enjoy the sweeping majesty of the epic movies of old and don't mind settling in to a relaxing storyline that doesn't focus on excessive violence, gratuitous foul language, and Hollywood special effects out the wazoo... then you will enjoy this emotionally involving movie about the human spirit.
