My first Korine experience is trash

Given that I'd never seen all of Harmony Kornie's other flicks; Kids, Gummo or Julien Donkey Boys except in twenty minutes look sees on cable, I decided to give this one a try. It may have been and interesting premise on the page, but this sludge fails to impress. What really gets me is that there's no explanation for the blue habit wearing nuns, maybe that came later but I only lasted about forty minutes with this thing. When the characters as celebrity impersonators intro themselves to Diego Luna's Michael Jackson wannabe, Abe Lincoln intros himself as Abraham (expletive F word) Lincoln. Honest Abe would never speak like this. These loonies shirk the responsiblilities of everyday life only wanting to perform. It's more like an insane asylum in a Scottish castle. They don't even look like their counterparts. Apparently, Korine is still having the drugs seeping out of his system and it's still affecting his brain. This is not art, simply put its the opposite TRASH! |
