A charming movie!

I saw this movie with my two teeneged daughters and we were all completely charmed by this amazing picture.
In the hands of less adept actors Miss Pettigrew and LaFosse could have been one demensional stereotypes-- a disgruntled judgemental frump and a blonde bimbo. But, in the hands of McDermond and Adams their characters have true depth and feeling.
And, while there are some serious moments in the movie, they are just that-- moments. The film never looses its cheerful focus.
I haven't heard an audience of grown-ups break into applaus at the end of a movie in years. But, at the end of this film everyone in the audience, young and old alike broke into applause. I think the movie left everyone feeling so happy that they absolutely had to express their delight!
This is a movie you will absolutely adore! I think it is impossible to walk out of the theater without a smile on your face after seeing this movie. I wish Hollywood would make more movie like this! |
