I just got back from viewing Mad Money. I have to say I was expecting it to be a decent movie, and to my suprise I really enjoyed it. I'll start by saying that if your wanting to see a heavy movie with metaphors then you won't like what you get. But if your into a solid movie where you can laugh and have a feel good time then go see it, you won't be dissapointed.
The premise of the movie is of course these three ladies devise a plan to rob from the federal govenment, the catch is that the money is moments from being shreaded. Who wouldn't be tempted?
The acting in the movie is great all around the table. Each actress brings a different element to the table. Diane Keaton carries most of the dialogue and is the key character of the story, Queen Latifa has the heart, and Katie Holmes brings in the kooky fun (you've never seen her like this before)
While it is a straight comedy there are moments of good suspense. Nothing that keeps you at the edge of your seat but enough to get your heart racing. Usually the moments broken by something funny, which is always great.
If you want to see a fun movie and leave the theater with a grin on your face then go see this. Ignore the critics, their usually snobbish about movies anyways |
