Intricately plotted, visually appealing, and extremely taut, this film will blow you away. There are excellent performances by Tim Allen, Joe Mantegna, Rebecca Pigeon (the Major's wife in The Unit), Max Martini (also in the Unit), and Ricky Jay. But the real stand out is Emily Mortimer (remember her from "The Kid" and, more recently, as the prissy lover of Alex Baldwin in 30 Rock?) who manages to communicate so much emotion with so few words. This is really an oscar performance. Not only is the film great, but the ending will surprise you. Go see this film. It is the best film I've seen in a long long time. |
