Good but not great

The story in the movie is somewhat original. It starts by being a thinking man's martial arts movie. After the introduction of what appear to be key characters and stories, it seems that the writer (David Mamet) kinda leaves some plot points with lame resolutions. Still, this is a good movie with a great moral message. The fight scenes are shot way too close for anyone to appreciate any of the "art" in martial arts so fans of this genre are going to be disappointed. All in all, I recommend it to those who want to be entertained with a bit more than round-house kicks and training montage sequences. |
