I read a great review in the Wash Post, and for some reason I bought into the Wall Street Journal review that it was the best movie in 10 years. So did hundreds of folks who sold out 2 theaters in Bethesda MD last night. But ignore these reviews. The movie is (a) awful; (b) so painstakingly incomprehensible that even with lots of degrees and some learning you feel like an idiot; and (c) the most depressing 2:10 of my life. Seriously...tell your friends. Stop the madness. The acting seems good, but who knows. The plot is totally inaccessible and you want to slit your wrists half way through. I think people didn't walk out b/c they thought there'd be a payoff later. There wasn't. |
