I've just watched this movie at Melbourne Central. Overall, it's a feel good movie and does serve as a weekend entertainment.
The cinematography of movie is excellent; and nowhere falls short of highest mark. The laudable acting by all the cast makes this movie indeed riveting. Shah Rukh Khan is not portrayed as a lunatic who is required to overact, rather his is a balanced and composed acting, which stands for the strength of the movie. The only faltering of the movie is it's formulaic story, which sometimes lacks climax and sometimes makes you predict about the denoument.
The movie is also a satire on India where cricket and politics are considered the lifeline of society and the skill-loaded game like hockey is kept marginalized. The movie very aptly demonstrates that how in India sports heroes fall from grace once they inadvertently stumble on critical junctures. Last but not least, this movie has all the potential to resuscitate the moribund hockey in India-- Great work Producer, Director, SRK and Cast.. |
