I HAVE to say, to most naysayers, therapy for Black people, Harvard, USC, the point is; its about moving forward; remember the caption does say: INSPIRED, BASED ON...If you are going to criticize make sure your comprehension is up to par.
Most who consider as one editor put FORMULAIC, forget all movies have a formula is called beginning, character arc, ending; and to the others that said: "Sad and tragic; Oprah and Denzel, need to be ashamed;" what for? Its a great story. Even HARVARD knows; progressive white people; are only as good if they let the rest compete.
This movie granted is about the South in the 30's; however, get off your Jim Crow ideals and really see a good movie for what it really is; and its about children finding answers, moving forward and not letting their surroundings hold them back from success. |
