We've all seen the metoric rise of Jet Li and Jackie Chan in their acting endevors. Both proved to be two of the best action stars of all time. Jackie Chan looked at the silent film era and added his own touch of comedy to action. Jet Li proved to be able to a king in Hong Kong Cinema, and recently has had great success in American cinema. Now we finally see a collaboration between the two and it does not disappoint. The fight scene between the two shows the brillance of not just the two stars, but also the brillance of a third man behind two stars, action choreographer Yuen Wo Ping who has worked with both men. The movie also explores one of the more popular myths in Chinese culture, the Monkey King. Li Bing Bing and Li Yiu Fe prove they are more than capable of being action stars in their own right, following the likes of Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi. Michael Angarano shows to a comedic take on action himself and shows he can keep up with the Hong Kong Action genius of Chan, Li, and Yuen Wo Ping. A must see movie, if not for the story, definately for the action. |
